Die Adler!

So people in Mannheim really get into their hockey. People were all decked out in Adler Mannheim gear--most tied their jerseys around their waists until they got into SAP arena just so you could see the jerseys without coats getting in the way.

The SAP arena is really easy to get to. There are a bunch of trains running (some not even with a route number, just a little hockey player where 6a usually is), and you just hop on one and it takes you directly there.

The atmosphere was comparable to a college football game, although they actually sell 'bier,' (one for 3e, or 4 for 11e.) The 10e tickets are not assigned seating, you just go where you can find a place. There are technically seats attached to the wall, but if you sit down you won't be able to see. But the atmosphere is crazy, and the fans have all these chants for their teams.

I don't know why their mascot isn't dressed as an eagle...
